Silverado 2500 Diesel

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

Had a flat traveling from Maine to Florida. Tire was unrepairable. AAA put on the spare. We followed them to a place where I purchased a spare and had it placed on the rim that was on the rim that was on the truck when purchased new. Since the fix tire light stayed on because the spare rim does NOT have the sensors have tried to purchase a new Bridgestone. No one wants to order one ( have called at least 4 companies. Called bridgestone and when I asked what to do, the woman said call your dealer you bought the truck from and get it from them. I again exxplained 1700 miles away her next response was well " buy a tire" Like I haven't been trying. Finally found a tire dealer in another town that said he would order me and get me a tire.

It would have been a lot better and easier if Goodwin Chevy AND GM would have put the same size tires on the spare as on the truck. Truck has 17" and the spare has 16" Also the rim on the spare should have a hub WITH a sensor. This has been time consuming and a lot of calls and run around.

When you spend over 50K for a PU and find out they are cutting every corner doesn't do much for the confidence. My thought on nextt truck and all prospective buyers negotiate with the dealers. Don't think they will opt out of a sale for what should be onthe PU. 4 tires on the truck and a spare tire and rim that MATCHES!!! Not 17" tires and a 16" spare. Buyers beware.
