While driving on two lane country highway at 55mph low beam head lights went off. After a few scary seconds I was able to find a safe place to stop. I tried several things and discovered that the high beams still worked. I proceeded to my destination defective multi function switch. Internet tells me I am one of many.

The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that the interior dashboard light failed and the contact was unable to read the speedometer. The contact called the dealer regarding the dashboard light failure and the dealer advised that the module that controlled the lighting needed to be replaced. The contact did not have the module replaced. The failure mileage was 118,000.
