Silverado 1500 Z71 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

Every time I’ve turned the AC on, it takes forever to get cold and the air doesn’t blow out consistently. When I change the dial, there is a really long lag before it turns up or down, and it’s just super annoying.

Silverado 1500 High Country 6.2L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

I noticed the 2017 Silverado surged and clunks while stopping occasionally almost like it shifts into higher gear while stopping. I had a hunch the a/c was causing the problem but not sure how it does it... maybe a/c clutch disengages or something. I found that when I turned the a/c off, the transmission downshifts fine and there is no surge so I listed the a/c as the problem.

Silverado 1500 LTZ 5.8L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 71,552 miles

So after the transmission issues I started having my a/c goes bad. Took back to Stonebriar Chevrolet where the original transmission issue was to be fixed. They said this too was a common problem of the CHEVY Silverado but was not under recall either. I asked for a quote on repair which they came back with nearly $1900.00 to replace the condenser. After talking with the sales associate for a bit and she made a call into GM even to see if there was something they could do to which they said absolutely not. I left after she came back and said she could lower it to $1500.00 and went to another dealership who sold me the truck James Woods in Denton. They quoted me $1000.00 to refill the freon and replace the condenser part which had failed. DO NOT BUY A CHEVY SILVERADO after I have warned you.

Silverado 1500 WT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,400 miles

WHEN USING AC ON HOT DAYS + FAN ON HIGH, IT WILL LOWER FAN SPEED BY ITSELF BY AT LEAST 1/2 WHEN AC IS NEEDED THE MOST. WHEN I WANT MY FAN SPEED ON HIGHEST SETTING I EXPECT IT TO STAY THERE + AIR TEMPERATURE SOMETIMES IS BARELY COOL
