Randomly my truck will go in engine power reduced and top speed is 35 mph. It happened a couple of time on the interstate. The code that pops up is P2135 and I looked it up on line. The internet is full of forms and videos about this problem. Everything on the internet points to the throttle position sensor. I've replaced it twice and replaced the throttle body twice and wiring twice. I put truck in the shop three times. Spent a good $1500 trying to fix the problem and it still pops up every couple of months.

As I come to a stop, the brake pedal pulsates from ABS activation increasing braking time and distance. The ground is dry while this happens. After a while the and light comes on. Was told by a dealer mechanic it was a bad ABS sensor and to replace hub. I did and now, two years later, it is happening again. Now I'm being told it is a problem with elements in my area, being in a snowbelt state, getting into wheel speed sensor and blocking signal. Same exact symptoms as last time, different diagnosis. Neither time did they plug into my truck for codes. Both times, I have to open my wallet for faulty products.

When applying the brakes to stop at an intersection, the vehicle lurches for a few feet then just lets go until it comes to a complete stop several feet into the intersection. This also occurs every time the brakes are applied when trying to stop. The brakes seem to slow you down to 10 miles per hour then they let go. At this time we are forced to use this vehicle even though it is unsafe. We would like this problem fixed asap.

The wheel speed sensor for the ABS system is affected on multiple trucks Chevy produced from 99-06. This causes the braking below 10 mph to cause pulsation and ABS malfunctioning causing me to almost rear end vehicles and be unable to slow down correctly. Chevy knows of the issue yet it is not a recall for my vehicle.

While driving my truck down the freeway, the engine light suddenly came on and a warning appeared on the dashboard stating "reduced engine power" and the truck shut itself down to 10 miles an hour in seconds. I had vehicles coming up behind me traveling at 60 mph and higher that nearly hit me from behind. Even if I floored the gas pedal the truck would not speed up making it extremely difficult to get out of the way of oncoming traffic. The local Chevy dealership had my truck 2 days and charged me $400 for an emissions part. I picked my truck up on Thursday evening, Jan. 20, 2011, and it broken down the very next morning with the same issue. I took it right back over there and they told me to return it on Monday Jan. 24 which I did. They returned the truck to me on weds. Jan. 26, and said they couldn't figure out the problem but may have been a loose wire. The truck broke down with the same issue again on Feb 14. The dealership had it another 3 days and said they soldered some connections. Again on March 10, my truck broke down again, same issue. They had my truck until March 14, and again charged me for replacing the wiring harness and throttle body. I picked my truck up at 6 pm mon March 14 and it already broke down again this morning March 16, same issue. On two occasions now I have had my kids in the back seat, driving on the freeway when the engine decides to shut itself down. No one at Chevy seems to care if we are injured or killed when we are hit due to this defective truck. I am not the only Chevy owner reporting this problem. Not only are there complaints all over the internet, but the dealership had another truck in at the same time as mine at the March 10 visit, with the exact same issue and it had already been in multiple times for the same issue as well.

The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While attempting to stop at a red light with his foot on the brake pedal the vehicle accelerated which also caused him to proceed through the red light. He also stated that the ABS light illuminated for a half hour after the failure occurred. The dealers diagnosis located the failure as the ABS brake pump motor. The vehicle was repaired for $600. The failure and the current mileages were 19,000. Updated 03/04/10.
