The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that the heat would not activate on the high setting. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the heater switch was found to be melted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure recurred several years later in which the heater switch overheated and caused the dashboard to catch on fire. The contact did not sustain any injuries. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100,000.

The blower motor fan for the heat and A/C the wire connectors towards the passenger side under the dash glove box the wire is melting which is causing the fan not to work sometimes and you can smell it melting ( its the male and female connectors ) they plug into each other that's where its at. My truck is a 2006 Chevy Silverado ext.cab its gonna end up catching the truck on fire. Something needs to be done its GM responsibility to fix the problem.
