Silverado 1500 Hybrid

  • 52,976 miles
I am original owner, purchased new 12/30/11, and vehicle has always been well cared for and maintained. It is a 2011 and only had 52,976 miles. I notice a gas odor and gas dripping underneath vehicle, with a hesitation in starting vehicle. Vehicle was brought to whiteman Chevrolet in glens falls, NY. Their diagnosis was fuel pump rotted and leaking, and fittings rotted into plastic lines. They replaced fuel pump, lock ring, level sensor, and both lines off pump. Total cost was $1318.11. They stated these parts were corroded from weather and road salt, and not covered by any warranty or recall. I wrote a complaint to GM Chevrolet customer assistance center. They assigned a case number 8-3967027450 and advisor 'deanndra' to investigate. Her investigation concluded that the parts that were replaced had been corroded by weather and road salt in my area. She stated there are no other complaints of this nature on file to indicate this being a problem, so this case is closed.

One night on the way home from work, I was driving 60mph and all of the sudden my truck hydroplaned. I managed to get the truck straight and regain control of the vehicle. About a week later, as I'm heading home all of the sudden my ABS, brake, and traction control lights all illuminated. The dic reads service stabilitrak and service traction control, then it will display stabilitrak off and traction control off. I had the codes read and my trouble code was P069E - fuel pump control module requested mil illumination and U0073 - control module communication bus a off. All those lights mentioned above have been on for about a month. I looked up information about the fpcm and found out about GM recall 14515, I entered my VIN but the only recall that came up was for the takata airbag recall. As I read through the 14515 recall, I feel my truck is affected by it because, while driving the truck my speedometer jumps all around and is not stable. Also, when I try to accelerate, it feels like the engine stalls and there's no power there. Other times, it will down shift to increase rpms, but then soon shift gears into a higher gear then shift back into a low gear and repeat this until I let off the pedal. My tow haul mode will not stay engaged, cruise control will not stay engaged, and most of the time my truck won't even start when trying to use the remote start, instead lights just flash as I'm holding down the start button on the key fob. The truck feels really sluggish almost like there's no power, it seems like it hunts for the right gears while driving. Overall it just feels unsafe to drive.

Vehicle went into limp mode while cruising at 65 mph. Traction control disabled light and check engine light illuminated. Message center displayed "service stabilitrak" "service traction control" and "engine power reduced" messages. Vehicle slowed and transmission downshifted. Vehicle failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. With accelerator to the floor the vehicle would not exceed 35 mph in a flat grade. On a steep incline the vehicle would not exceed 15mph with the accelerator pedal to the floor. The issue has occured several times before. Parking the vehicle on the side of the road and several ignition cycles have in the past have resolved the issue. This is a known issue with GM vehicles using a drive by wire throttle body and it has been recalled on other model years.

Engine power reduced, service traction control, service stabilitrak, these warning lights came on and as my truck slowed down no matter how much gas I gave it. Also the check engine light came on. I shut truck off and waited a couple minutes then started truck up. It ran for a few minutes then the same 3 warning lights came on along with the check engine. Light. Is there a recall or a technical service bulletin (tsb) for this issue. I did read that there might be a tsb campaign # [xxx] for this issue. Is there any paperwork that can be emailed to me to give to the GM dealer to help me with this issue. The vehicle was in motion the first time it happened. It also happens while parked in driveway and just warming up truck. Thank you, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

On Oct 4th, 2014 I was traveling from san angelo, tx to san antonio, tx, in my 2011 3500 Chevrolet diesel pickup, pulling our 5th wheel camper. When I neared junction, tx I could smell an odor of fuel. On I-10 eb mile 456, I noticed that my fuel gauge was rapidly dropping. When I left junction, the gauge read half full. At mile marker 497, I pulled into a rest stop, because the fuel gauge had dropped to the empty mark. I got out of the truck and could see the diesel pouring off the bottom of the motor. When the dripping stopped I attempted to start the truck, but it would not start. The starter motor was running, but the fuel tank was completely empty. In that distance the truck should have used five gallons of diesel pulling the trailer. Which means that about 14 gallons were dumped onto the highway within 40 miles. My truck was towed to cecil atkission Chevrolet in kerrville, tx. The diesel technician there told me that mine would be the 4th diesel he recently worked on with a similar issue. He even showed me another diesel truck that he was currently working on, also with a fuel leak.

Tank was filled to less than 1/2 tank and after stopping at location and restarting vehicle. Fuel level read empty. Fuel levels and computer system not accurate. Multiple occurrences. I did speak with the dealership and they "think" it could be the fuel pump. It has been doing this since the initial purchase. New vehicle status.

Everytime I go to the pump it kicks out like the tank is full. If you hold the nozzle as its barely coming out it will work normal but you cant even use the lowest notch on the pump to set it on to pump gas, it wont work. So it needs to be fixed and I've told the Chevy dealer about it and they said there is nothing wrong with it and no recall. Im trying to make it a recall now so it will be fixed.
