Silverado 2500 4WD 8-cyl Diesel

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. While accelerating to 10 mph, the contact heard a loud vibrating noise. After having the vehicle inspected by a repair shop, he was advised that the bracket in the transfer case failed. As a result, the springs in the four wheel drive transfer case punctured a hole in the aluminum housing. The dealer stated that the contact would have to pay $1,463 to replace the transfer case because it was out of warranty. The vehicle has not been repaired. Failure of the 4 X 4 control module and automatic transmission shift motor. While driving the transfer case shifted into neutral, pressing the 2hi button caused the transfer case to lock up. The truck was shut off while driving on the freeway and was dead steered to the shoulder. Complete replacement of both module and motor replaced $1972 dollars, truck only had 58,237 mi.
