Silverado 2500 8-cyl Diesel

  • 11,000 miles
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated while driving at 30-35 MPH with a 2017 Heartland Bighorn trailer hitched to the vehicle, the message -€œCheck Trailer Wiring-€ was displayed. The brake pedal was depressed, however, the trailer brakes failed to respond and the trailer did not slow down as intended. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring for an extended period of time while driving. The contact stated that the failure persisted for 4 hours while driving at 60 MPH. The contact stated that several unknown repairs had been completed on the trailer. However, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that no issues were found. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer Graff Chevy Durand (9009 Lansing Rd, Durand, MI 48429), where it was diagnosed that no issues were found. The contact stated the Pollak 7-Way Plug Connector was installed on the vehicle under GM Technical Service Bulletin Number :PIT5311E. However, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent, which made it difficult to diagnose. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000. The contact stated that they paid for repairs on the trailer but feels that the issue is coming from the truck too.
