So we just bought this car from a dealer and not 2 days home and it stuck in overdrive gear without coming out. Took it into dealer and they said it was misfiring and replaced the coil and 2 spark plugs. (BIG RED FLAG!) was when they said they couldn't "recreate" the problem! Sounds to me like there is no fix to the issue. After driving it to work it did the same thing. Brought it back in and the technicians said it was misfiring again. Told me that my selection of fuel might be an available solution such as Shell or other higher brands. This to me does not fix the problem at all and now my girl wants to know about a refund. I will be working with our salesmen to see what other available options we have as this car is nice but not worth my efforts to keep it reliable. I looked into the other complaints and found I too shut the car off and turn it back on and it corrects the issue temporarily but to say this car is reliable is OK for those who don't care pulling off the side of the road and restarting to correct the issue. I can say that while driving it it does not cause the gear to drop or stick it's only when in stop and go traffic in which this should not be happening. Everyone at the dealer has done everything they could but to me this car is nothing but a headache to those looking for reliability in a mini car. We will be looking at other available options shortly. I also see that they have had issues from this very thing and have corrected them in later models but have done nothing to correct this particular year. If you want to get one of your loved ones scared about cars out there have them jump into this one for a test drive and make sure you have them in stop and go traffic as it will eventually lock in to overdrive gear and have them running for an alternative. I really like the car but I don't like the issues with it that cannot be corrected.

Update from May 14, 2019: Update: Found the issue of the drive train as well as the misfire. After bringing this car in 3 times during the warranty coverage the techs of Chevrolet found the issue of the misfire was following the injector when moving it to another cylinder of the engine along with the connector. According to the techs the sensors that read the rpm of the motor through the torque converter were misreading due to the misfire. Replaced both the connector to the injector and the injector itself. Found no issues since and have been driving it daily with no more occurrences. This situation has been resolved and hopefully someone reading this might find it helpful.

Spark LT 1.2L 4 cyl

Upon turning onto main road to town the check engine and traction control warning lights flashed about 6 times then cleared. I continued to the stop sign 2 miles and stopped. As I accelerated to leave the stop the car did not want to move and on pressing more on the accelerator it moved as though it was in high gear. It did not shift.

I stopped to mail a letter and on departing it was now in second gear however it would not shift at all even though my speed 45 mph should have required it to shift to high gear. After stop in which I shut the engine off, the trip home, 4 miles, it shifted as it should!

Update from Jul 25, 2014: Dealer could not reproduce the problem and no computer codes were found. Nothing was done for this problem.

Update from Aug 10, 2014: 8-7-14 Taking the car to dealer for coolant problem and when I went to start it almost did not start. When it started the low battery icon came on then went out, there were no charging failure icons on at any time.

On the way to the dealer tried to set the cruse and it would not come on or set.
