rusted brake lines

Brake lines AND fuel lines are horribly rusted. Twice I had the brakes fail because the brake lines rusted through. Washing the vehicle would not be practical or useful to help prevent the brake lines from rusting. They rust in areas that are inaccessible, in clamps that trap salt and dirt. I bought this vehicle used, and one brake line had already been replaced. So far the fuel lines haven't rusted through, but by the looks of them, they could fail at any time, especially in the areas that you cannot see.
