Suburban LS 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

I keep my Suburban very clean inside and outside year round. I now have rust on BOTH sides of my truck. IT is located bottom of the quarter panels same spot both sides. Rusting threw from the inside out. Paint is bubbling up There is no spots of damage only paint bubbling up. I have to replace back hatch because of rust at bottom of hatch from inside also. the whole bottom of hatch is rusting. I only had 75.000 miles when I first noticed the problem. GM states warranty if over and I am on my own to fix the problem.

rusting

rust on left rear quarter panel

I noticed a couple of bubbles of rust about the size of a quarter which I called the dealer to discuss. He stated that the manufactures warranty is for 7 years 100,000 miles on rust and since i was at 130k and outside my warranty, GM stated I was on my own. I've purchased the vehicle September 2012 with 66K miles on it. It was only out of warranty 6 months/30k. I only owned the vehicle only two years and this is what I get for buying a vehicle from GM. I've purchased all these extended warranty on my vehicle, everyone pushed back to the manufacture. I was really contemplating on trading my Suburban in for a new one, but with problems from door handles breaking that I've previously complained about and rust forming on a vehicle that I should not be seeing. I seriously doubt I'll be purchasing another from someone that doesn't care about their customers. The dealer states that they've never seen rust on this type of vehicle within the time frame that's occurred with my vehicle. Isn't that some sh**!
