Suburban LTZ 5,2 V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 77,789 miles

My 2008 Suburban LTZ developed excessive oil consumption starting at 45k miles, 4.5 years into my warranty. Went through oil consumption tests (Dealership was very supportive). Once confirmed, dealership went through three steps of resolution...top-end (valve cover), then lower end (oil pan), then ultimately, Replaced all pistons...told me I'd never have issues after that fix.

Roll forward, my 5-year warranty has expired. At 77,000 miles, there is now a pronounced "ticking", which sounds like lifters when the car starts, and at higher RPM just before shifting.

How do I make a case that this should be fixed under warranty?
