Seriously, GM? This is the best you can do on a $45,000 truck?

Suburban LT

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

Our Suburban only has 2 locks(the drivers side rear and the hatch) that work with the keyless entry or lock/unlock button. To unlock the drivers side door you must use the key. To unlock the passenger side doors you must crawl across the seats and do this manually. Chevrolet knows about the problem and sent us to have a diagnosis done with cost us $100 and they told us we were out of warranty to fix the lock actuators which cost approx. $900 to repair.

This is also a safety problem because you could be car jacked or very easily be a victim of theft. There have been numerous news reports of thieves entering the car while pumping gas or woman being assaulted by men hiding in the back seat. It would also be a problem if you had a child and could not get to them. The only key lock is the drivers door so you have no way to access the passenger side of the car.

My biggest problem is that the government helped out GMC and in turn GMC used cheap parts but still charged over $50,000 for this car and they refuse to issue a recall.
