Just what I wanted.... A nice big vehicle where I can take the 3rd row seats out and have my rear lift door not unlock!
No, I didn't really want or need that space, I just paid that extra money for looks, just to have that room open feel while driving on the road. Why would I want to use the back in for groceries when I can fip the back seats down and put them there all piled on top of each other smashing my bread and eggs? Why would I want to get the back end dirty when I can borrow someone elses truck to move my plants and mulch from the store or maybe a new chair? Why would I want to put my luggage in through the back lift door when I can fip down the back seats and crawl over them to put it in the back????
Or better yet... what is more fun than watching your teenage son trying to take the lift door panel off with a door locked in the back of your Tahoe. Darn... I should have made a YouTube video.
Don't you think this makes more sense? Great idea Chevy! Maybe next year you can just enclose it and not have a rear lift door.

The rear liftgate would not unlock. There is no way to open it with the key fob or manually. I contacted Chevy and they wanted me to pay for their defective part and they install it for free. Not sure why I should pay for a part that they know is defective and that they will not recall and repair? Please file a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, so that they can investigate and force Chevy to recall the vehicle and repair the part.
