Tahoe 8-cyl

  • 59,082 miles
I have a 2006 Chevy Tahoe Z56. When I went to check the condition of the plugs and wires, I noticed there is an exhaust leak around the # 1 & # 8 manifold areas - as evident by the blackish coloring on right under the valve cover in these two areas. After further review, it was evident that the # 8 bolt had already broken off (detached head), and the #1 bolt was spinning/stripped, just ready to fall off. I am reporting this since it apparently is a common problem on these vehicles and needs to be recalled. ***** as I stated, this is a 2006 Tahoe with only 59,082 miles on it. This is a manufacturers defect that needs to be addressed. *******

Tahoe

The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe. While driving approximately 60 mph the stability control light began illuminating on the dashboard momentarily before a power reduced message also displayed on the dashboard. During the failure, the vehicle would not accelerate beyond approximately 40 mph. The vehicle was taken to an independent repair shop where the contact was told that a module within the throttle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 120,000. The VIN was unavailable. Updated 03/08/11 updated 1/4/11
