All 4 of the chrome on the door handles are peeling and they cut my finger like 3 times.but took back to dealer and replaced it for free. My problem was solved yesterday. Finally it's fixed, but was a real pain.

I own a 2007 chevy Z71 taho fully loaded. The chrome plating on the inside door handels are peeling off and will cut you if you are not carefull. I heard rumor that there was a recall on these but have not been able to find anything online about it. I have taken my razor knife and cut edges down to plastic handle which is safer but looks like hell. Does anyone know if there are any recalls on the handles?

Tahoe LT Flex Fuel

I absolutely hated this. One day I turned around one day while opening my door handle, to find in a split second that it sliced across the palm of my hand. Can we say OUCH! Had to bandage for a week and super-glue shut (don't like stitches). Strangely enough, when I took it in for a warranty check, they found that both fronts were peeling away and getting rough edges. Glad my family didn't cut themselves too. It took them a week to get the parts but overall they had to replace the entire door handle panel since I guess it is more easily replaced and cheaper just to do the whole thing labor-wise versus taking apart and putting back together. So they had it replaced in a week and so far haven't had problems, but let's hope it stays that way. Pissed me off that it didn't yet have 15K Miles on it and was already peeling off.

dealership said they have this problem a lot and Chevy has extended the time frame for people to get this fixed up to 76k miles I believe....it cut 2 of my family members who actually thought of suing chevy for this. I had only one handle peeling, and they are replacing all 4 handles. I hope the new handles are NOT the same quality, but that they improved them.

THE CHROME ON THE DOOR HANDLES IS PEELING AND LIKE ANOTHER COMPLAINER WHO POSTED, IT'S SHARP! WE'VE BEEN LUCKY TO NOT HAVE BEEN CUT YET; I'M GONNA TELL THEM ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ALSO ON MY NEXT VISIT. WE CAN'T BELIEVE ALL THE PROBLEMS WE'VE HAD. IT'S BEEN THE ONLY BRAND SPANKIN NEW VEHICLE WE'VE BOUGHT OFF A CAR DEALERSHIP AND THE MOST EXPENSIVE (OVER $40,000), BUT IT'S BEEN THE CHEAPEST MADE ONE!!!!!

Update from Aug 4, 2010: THIS TOO WAS NOT COVERED UNDER OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT THEY FIXED IT FOR US.
