Tahoe LTZ

My dash started cracking around a year ago on the passenger side. Now the driver's side is cracked clear over my gauges and the pieces are falling to the floorboard below.

Tahoe LT 5.3L

2014 Tahoe LT. I earned my cracked dash above the passenger airbag last weekend when it was about 50 degrees outside. While driving, we heard a loud pop like a rock hit our truck or something. However, after closer examination, the dash now has two small cracks right above the left corner of the passenger dashboard airbag. I hope they/we win big against GM on this one!

I have owned this truck for 2 years and it's only 4 years old and had he dash crack. I have seen thousands of complaints of people with the same issue. I think its crap that GM won't fix the crappy craftsmanship they have with these trucks.

Tahoe LS

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,048 miles

Discovered crack in dashboard between passenger front airbag and right front defrost exhaust vent. I am concerned that the front passenger airbag could become loose and possibly activate. This could cause injury to the passenger and possibly cause car crash due to startling the driver when the airbag deploys.

Tahoe LS 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 52,000 miles

This is my second Tahoe. The first is a 2008 and we still have it. For the most part we really like them. The 2008 had a cracked dash that the dealership paid for part of the repairs. Since then, the dash has cracked again, in a different section.

Now I have a 2014 Tahoe that has a crack by the passenger side airbag (only 58000 miles). I took it to the local dealership. They called me back today, claiming that the manufacturer would not cover the repairs. Something about me not buying it new, of at this dealership (It was a demo I located in Florida with 8000 miles)

This is obviously a systemic problem in the quality of the dash materials. I'm at a loss. The repair cost is unreasonably high (nearly $2000).

I'm peeved!
