The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While the vehicle was stationary in a parking lot the lift-gate window exploded outwardly. When the failure occurred there were no occupants in the vehicle. There were no personal injuries. The police was notified; however, no police report was filed. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were unknown. Updated 02/19/10. Updated 02/19/10 updated 05/05/10.

Rear window shattered while sitting in my 2004 Trailblazer. No rocks were thrown at the truck. Based on internet research it seems to be a recurring problem with GM SUV's. I called the dealer today (12/17/07) and the service manager denied having any knowledge of this problem. GM/dealer denying any knowledge of the issue seems to be recurring as well.

I turned on the rear window defroster on my 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. After approximately 2 minutes the rear liftgate glass exploded. The truck is at dick morris Chevrolet in commerce township Michigan now.
