Trailblazer L 3.2L V6

Bought it used, was forewarned that heater warmed up to 'about room temperature'. That means, level 3 maybe, definitely level 2 worked, slowly but surely.

Even though I live in northern tip of Michigan, I'd fix that surely. And room temp was ok, right?

My favorite mechanics replaced the part that is up underneath the passenger side dash. I learned it just melts and fuses together. Cost minimal, less than $200.00. That wonderful heat lasted about a month. Fused again. Per research, it just keeps fusing together, regardless.

The fan quit working, whether using heat or air, above the 3 setting in 2012 and summer of 2015 the air quit coming out of the slots on the dashboard will only come out below or the defrost vents. Where I live it gets very hot in the summer, like tropical hot and I wish they'd recall in order to fix this problem!!!!!! Otherwise it is perfect.

Thanks to the web I found several forums that labeled this as a common problem with gm vehicules. The fix was easy if you can find the right Tutorial. The part made for this car has been upgraded 4 times by gm. So there is a problem with them.

I had to replace resister pack because the fan motor stopped working on medium to high settings. My Trailblazer has the automatic climate control and the resister pack is more expensive than the manual control pack and can only be purchased from GM. Fortunately, GM has come up with a next generation pack that is supposed to be better than the original. I will have to wait and see.

Trailblazer LS 4.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 52,000 miles

Bought this car used and have had it for about seven months and #4 and 5 fan speed went out, fortunately it's still working on 1-3. It seems there are alot of complaints about this problem and there should be a recall on this. From what I am reading on this site people are fixing the problem only to have it return again. Looks like chevy just likes getting repeat business for the same problem and creates job security for their service department. WHAT BS!!!!

Read similar complaints and fixes here. Autozone had the resistor pack for about $27 after tax, but they did not carry the harness connector. I checked at the local dealership and they wanted $105.00 for the plastic connector with 7 wires. I ordered online from RockAuto and got the heavy duty replacement harness w/ buttsplices for around $35. The replacement was straight-forward. If the resistor assy power cord to the blower had been 1/16" shorter, I would not have been able to connect it. The red power wire in the old harness was blackened and the connector slightly melted. Thanks to all who posted info which helped me repair this (15 mins) on my own.
