Tried to turn on the air conditioning and discovered the fan did not work. After quite a bit of research and an expensive diagnosis, was informed the blower motor resistor was burned out. This appears to be a common, frequent, and expensive problem if done by the dealership. There are several potential hazards to families and children which include; the possibility of fire caused my the heated & melted wire, loss of air conditioning in the heat of the day which may cause heat stroke or worse, and loss of heat during the winter months making it impossible to drive safely without the windows icing over and inhibiting vision. A recall in order to repair the problems with the blower motor resistor is necessary.
