The Passlock theft-deterrent system in my 2007 TrailBlazer shut my vehicle off while driving on the Freeway in the fast lane last night. Lucky for me I was in slow traffic but still moving at a low speed. The security light flashed 3 times on my dash and then nothing. As I went to press on the gas, the vehicle had no power. No indication lights other than the security light flashing told me the vehicle had shut off the fuel line to the vehicle which shut my vehicle off on the freeway!!! Of course this happens on a Friday night after 6:30pm and we all know with dealerships closing everywhere these days/not many choices as to where you can bring your vehicle during the week let alone on a Saturday! I'v been on the phone (still on the phone) with GM for the past hour trying to find a dealership to take it to today and be provided a vehicle in the meantime. This is a MAJOR safety issue...anytime a vehicle can just shut off and give you no indication it has puts your life as well as others on the road in what could be an ugly situation for all parties. GM needs to step up to the plate on this one....they are lucky nothing did happen and that I was in slow traffic and that my vehicle was rolling slighty when this happened otherwise I would of ended up with a dead car in the fast lane of traffic! Can you say lawsuit??? Anyone have the same experience or advice??
