My 2007 Trailblazer ss has a manifold exhaust leak. The bolts are broken on the left front of the head and back bolt of the head on both sides. We are getting exhaust gas in to the inside of the truck. This could cause carbon monoxide poisoning. To the driver in the vehicle, this is very serious condition.

The vehicle vibrates heavily while in idle. The car will be in the drive position at a stop. The car acts as if it is about to stall out. Which presents a huge hazard with children in the car. We have replaced the engine mounts, spark plugs, coils, boots, intake flush and performed routine maintenance. I have read that numerous Trailblazers have encountered the same issue with no resolution! my biggest fear is for a car to stall and an injury to occur a a direct result.

Vehicle stalls and shuts down everyday. Sometimes just stalls then accelerates, sometimes shuts off and I can switch to neutral and restart while coasting. Other times I get shutdown warning light and engine will not restart. I have to coast to the shoulder and wait. Engine will then struggle to restart and engine shakes violently. I wait a few minutes and it will start and run fine, sometime with check engine light on, sometimes not. RPM gauge works sometimes, sometimes not. At time there has been no response when turning key to start. On going issue!! crankshaft position sensor has been replaced 3 times, and issue still persist. Major safety issue!!

While taking my kids to school this morning, the engine shutoff shut off with no indication at all. We were starting to slow down to turn the corner to head to the school when this incident occurred. We have had several components (battery, ignition switch, alternator, starter relay) changed out the fixed the engine light, but the engine continues to stall. I have seen over 500 other people with this same issue and have not seen anyone who has had it fixed yet.

I have a rare Trailblazer with a 5.3L V8. It is very low miles with 41000, oil changes every 3-4000 miles at GM dealerships. I am an ex diesel mechanic of 10 years. I could not believe it a year ago when the dealership stated: That 1 quart of oil used in 2000 miles was normal consumption. I have checked other sites and many others have the same issue with the 5.3L in the 1/2 tons and larger SUVS that the motor is standard in. I have worked on almost every gas, natural gas and diesel engine from the 80S-late 90S and any motor that uses 1/6th of its oil in 1000 miles as it mine did when visiting family last thanksgiving is not normal 1 quart in 770 miles. I thought: Well must have gotten a bad motor (luck of the draw), it is out of warranty due to age not mileage, and I can buy a re-man short block when it goes out and change it my self. I decided to check the web if there is any traffic on the problem. I was surprised to find hundreds of posts of the same problem, and gms lack of ability or desire to fix the problem. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that GM has a problem with the piston rings and valve guides leaking into the cylinder when in 4 cyl. Mode, caused by the suction caused by the power stroke (of the 4 stoke cycle) with both valves closed. Oil burns off causing buildup further damaging the engine sensors and cat. Converter. GM must have solved the problem, because new 5.3ls have not shown the same issue. To not say it is not a safety issue is insane. Many recalls have been made because of autos suddenly coming to an unexpected stop. What else would happen if your engine runs out of oil after only 1000 miles or less and seizes? what if it happens on a hill while towing, driving across a desert, or in the winter. Lastly if you add up all 2007 5.3ls on the road burning 2 quarts or more in 3000 miles, how is that not an environmental issue.

I was driving my 2007 Trailblazer home after a 150 mile trip to columbus and noticed oil spots on my driveway. I moved and parked the vehicle in another location where a large puddle of "oil." Fell under the engine. I climbed underneath and saw transmission fluid dripping from the frame onto the ground. I called graham Chevrolet and was told not to drive as it would cause severe damage to the transmission resulting in a costly repair or replacement. I called aaa and had the vehicle towed on a flatbed truck to graham Chevrolet where they replaced the corroded and leaking transmission lines with a bill of over $500 for the work done. They said GM knows of the problem and it is common to theses vehicles, but no recall or warranty repair was authorized. It was the customers problem to take care of. I have since found others with the same issue and also did an internet search showing many Trailblazers with this problem. My complaint is that the vehicle was designed and built with a defective transmission cooler line material subject to corrosion and failure over time. GM and Chevrolet should be responsible for this repair and issue a callback to prevent any potential accidents or injuries due to this failure.

The service engine light came on. As I was driving home from work at night, the external and internal lights would dim and then return to normal. I later found out that the front lights would completely go out for a brief second or two and then turn back on. When I got home, there was an odd fan/vacuum noise from my engine. The noise was coming from the air filter area. The noise would turn randomly start and stop and run for several minutes. I unhooked my battery, but my battery was completely drained in the morning and the car would not start. I replaced the battery but the check engine light was still on and the noise would randomly start and stop, most noticeably when the vehicle was turned off. I took it to an auto repair shop and was advised the issue is the a.I.R pump relay - in-line6 and the a.I.R system pump - in-line 6. the labor description from the auto service states "check service engine soon light and abnormal noise from engine area. Perform diagnosis fault code P2431 for air injection system. Further testing found system not working at this time. Further testing found air pump relay connector melted shorted. Problem due to internal failure to secondary air injection pump worn needs replaced. I have my vehicle scheduled to fix this issue tomorrow when the repair facility can get the parts in. I was told this was a very common issue with the Trailblazer. The auto repair man also told me that this puts a huge drain on the amperage, thus causing safety issues of the battery draining and the vehicle not starting in potentially dangerous situations. Additionally, with the air pump relay connector melted and shorted out - this is a potential fire hazard. I believe this issue should be covered under recall or warranty due to the frequency, known issue, and potential hazardous conditions.

Vehicle stalled in traffic. Found no fuel in system even though fuel indicator noted a half tank. A week after this the low fuel light came on 15 miles after filling the tank. It has been on ever since and will not go off. We now have to keep track of fuel by using the trip computer.

My fuel gauge is starting to fluctuate. I just filled it up and when I go down the road it will go down at least a quarter of a tank and when I stop and let it run idle for awhile it will go back to where it was. It just started this past week. From what I am reading, it won't belong before I will have to spend another bunch of money into it. Last month I had to put a new throttle body on it because the sensors went bad and with this year the sensors are in the throttle body, so you have to buy the whole thing. As I was getting into the vehicle about a month ago, the part for the seat controls on the bottom side of the seat just busted off. Everytime it gets colder out, the stabilitrak system won't stay on. It was always off in the winter time, never worked. When living in Michigan and getting lake effect snow alot of the time, it would be nice to have it available. I will never buy another GM product. Been buying them and my family members for more than 50 years, more and more of the newer vehicles have too many problems. I don't make that much money to keep putting money into a vehicle that is supposedly reliable and take days off of work to get them fixed. No thank you.

Some of the items forthcoming happen all together and/or intermittently separate. The initial issues noticeably started upon my arrive in South Carolina, but it was not something that immediately recognized before my relocation, because I thought it was something I did myself. I came out to my car on Saturday, 6/16/12. My car window was down and some items were stolen. I did not see any glass on the ground so I thought I left the window down myself and someone just stolen items. After speaking with the complex security and reporting the incident to hoa, I came out the truck again it smelled of wires burning and the window was down again. Several days later the tire pressure light was on and took the truck to get the wheels balanced and oil change at Firestone. The tire pressure light would not go out, nor did the engine and oil light go out. A few months after that the smell of wires burning happened again and the engine remained on for over 2 weeks, then went off. In the late fall there was a really bad thunderstorm and when arrived to truck after work; running in rain, I saw that my window was down and I could not get the window back up for about 5 minutes. I was soaked and so was the car. The truck received an oil change recently and all the lights would not go out and the walmart mechanic who did the oil change stated that he smelled gas and some wires burning, lights on panel would not go out. Smell of wires burning. Engine light comes on and stays on for days-then goes off by itself. All lights emergency lights on panel intermittently on (oil/traction/tire pressure). Fuel gauge shows/clicks as full, smells like gas in truck and runs out of fuel with gauge showing full. Driver's window goes down when keys are not in truck. Heating knob on off, still blowing hot or cold air and gauge does not turn on past 2. lights dim when using power button for windows.
