The failure is the fuel gauge, I have ran out of gas three times because of this issue. Nothing has been done with this as of yet, will cost $600 to repair, everyone with this type of truck has this issue.

2007 Chevy Trailblazer. Gas gauge periodically goes from full to empty even though tank is full. No real rhythm to the malfunction which keeps us from knowing how much gas is actually there.

The fuel gauge on my 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer is faulty.I have ran out of gas several times when the gauge shows a quarter tank or less. No low fuel light, no gauge needle on empty, just a dangerous gauge that should be recalled by GM before someone runs out of gas on the freeway and gets ran over. My vehicle had 60,000 miles on it when the problem started. After some investigation, I discovered I am not the only one with this problem.

The fuel gauge indicator comes on after about 150 miles with more than a half a tan of gas left. The gauge states that I am out of gas with the light on. For the time being I use the trip odometer and refuel about every 200 miles. It still worries me that my gas light is on and says empty. I haven't gone to a repair shop because my Trailblazer is no longer under warranty, but have looked online and saw many complaints of the same problem with quotes ranging anywhere from $400-$1000. This problem started at about 60K miles. I currently have approximately 62K miles.

Trailblazer 4WD 6-cyl

  • 50,000 miles
2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Fuel gauge indicator remains illuminated after filling with fuel. The gauge and message bar indicated that there is low fuel no matter how full the tank is. As a result, I have to use the trip meter and assume that I need to fill up at around 250 miles. I have run out of gas twice even before that amount of miles. I have called my local dealer and Chevrolet corporate but they will not take responsibility for repairs and state that the vehicle is out of warranty. This is absolutely a manufacturers defect. The failure mileage was 50,000 and current mileage is 60,000.

Trailblazer 4WD 6-cyl

I have a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer that has issues with the gas gauge reading. My gas gauge all of sudden stopped registering the amount of full in the tank at around 60,000 miles. It would show empty when I had just filled it up full. Now my gas gauge always shows empty and this in turn also makes the check engine light come on all the time. I have to fill up every 300 miles just to make sure I don't run out of gas. When I talked to the local dealership they said it was the fuel sensor in the tank but GM hadn't recalled it. I searched all over the internet and found this to be a problem with my year Trailblazer. Many others have experienced the same problem. I have not repaired it because it was over $700. It seems to me that if this is a problem with 2005-2007 Trailblazers that GM would do something about it. I know there are far more people out there who haven't complained.

The fuel gauge in our 2007 Chevy Trailblazer stopped working 18 months ago. The fuel gauge will randomly oscillate between empty and full as well. This has caused us to run out of fuel twice because we thought we had adequate supply.

Fuel sender/gauge does not function. I bought this 07 Trailblazer brand new and it only has 31K miles. Problem started to occur around 27K miles and the dealer advised it was not covered under warranty!!! you would think with 70 complaints about this same issue, Chevy would do something about it!!! very disappointing. I just wish that was the only problem...tire monitor doesn't work, the A/C electrical system failed, and the check engine light is always on.

2007 Trailblazer lt 58,000 mi. Fuel gauge only reads correctly when the tank is full. Anything less that 3/4 of a tank and the fuel gauge reads empty and warning light illuminates. Gauge will occasionally fluctuate between accurate reading and empty but more often than not just stays at empty. Never really sure how much gas is in the tank so have to go by the odometer reading. Vehicle is beyond warranty and dealer claims nothing wrong with part.

I own a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer. 2 thousand miles after the warranty expired my fuel level sensor went out. I have come to find this is a huge problem with this vehicle and there should be a recall for such a common problem.

Trailblazer 6-cyl

  • 65,000 miles
2007 Trailblazer fuel level sensor failure causes my fuel gauge to give incorrect reading. I would fill up the car with gas and the gauge would go to 1/4 tank or empty at times and then back to full. I brought this vehicle brand new and at 65,000 miles this issue started. My extended warranty ended at 60,000. I ran out of gas once because the fuel level display showed that I had 1/4 tank when I was on empty. I took the vehicle to a local Chevy dealership and was told there's a shortage in the sensor and it has to be replaced, but since my warranty is no longer it would cost over $600. I know of 3 other people with the same sensor failure and after reading reviews online I believe Chevy needs to recall this sensor.

Trailblazer

  • 63,000 miles
2007 Chevy Trailblazer with 64,000 miles. Fuel gauge will move around no matter how much gas in it. Could have a full tank & one minute it will read full, next minute low fuel light is coming on. 3 times now, my Trailblazer shut off going down the road, which means no power steering or power brakes. It thinks it's out of fuel, when there is fuel in it. After sitting a few minutes along side the road, I start it up & I'm good to go. I have to keep it filled all the time, because the gauge will not read correctly. Sometime sitting at idle I've watched it go to empty & back up while I'm just sitting there.
