Battery was replaced, and there was no problem for approximately a month. Now it won't start again, but it shows it is charging when driven.

Traverse LTS V6

Drove my car to a band competition, parked and went in. Stayed there about 3-4 hours. Went out and got into my car and it started right up. Went a mile away, stopped and went into Gigi's to get cupcakes. No wait, I was in there MAYBE 5-8 minutes and there was nothing on in my car other than my cell phone charging through the lighter via car charger. I've done this before with no problems. This time, I came out and my car would not start. Warning lights all flashing, key stuck in ignition, would not turn to off position or come out. Husband had to drive 25 miles to jump my car off. Not happened again....yet. However, today the a/c randomly quit. The check engine light comes on and off and no matter what we replace, it comes on randomly again.

We had the original battery jumped after I could not get my keys out of ignition when it was dead. It started up right away. Cranked good for about 2 weeks and did it again. Took it to a mechanic who checked the battery and alternator. He said the battery was good and the alternator was charging. Has anyone else had this problem? What did you find out was causing it and what did you do to fix. Thanks.

Update from Jan 5, 2016: Took to Mechanic Shop. Mechanic said it was a bad battery. Replaced Battery, So far so good. Will update in a month to see if the battery corrected the problem.

Traverse LX 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 81,229 miles

We had the original battery jumped after I could not get my keys out of ignition when it was dead. It started up right away. Took it to Pep Boys who checked battery and transmission and said it was fine. But when they went to do the diagnostic it would not let them. We called Chevy who said since we were no longer under warranty, don't bother coming to them.

Took it to another mechanic. The other mechanic changed the battery to be safe. And ran diagnostics. He said something electrical in the car is causing the battery to drain rapidly but he could.not figure out what it is. This is so frustrating.
