Traverse

  • 90,000 miles
The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that the weight of the vehicle placed on the suspension caused the steering wheel and four wheels to not align. Due to the failure, the contact stated that the steering wheel would align 50% percent to the right causing the vehicle to be undriveable. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic for multiple repairs including the control bushing, lower control arm, rack and pinion, and several other vehicle parts; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure and informed her that there were no open recalls on the vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

The air conditioner still faulty. Replaced hoses and freon. The struts still leaking fluid around tire area since purchased. I see many complaints online at different forums about this. My engine light comes on intermittently anf when I have it tested it just says O2 sensors. The light will stay on for 1-2 days and then go out and remain off for several months at a time. Everything in the car is plastic and keeps popping off. I have replaced so many door and seat pieces that this is crazy even down to replacing motor mounts. I love Chevrolet but this by far has been my most aggravating and costly purchase.... I used to go to my local Chevy dealer for service but I noticed when I log in to my Chevy/GM profile they don't load anything innthe system for Chevy to see you are really maintaining your car. These dealers are ripping people off.

Traction control of signal on along with the trak service light on. Rattling coming from the driver side front wheel area. Vehicle shuts off abruptly, with no warning at all. Vehicle has 109K miles on it. This happens at around th 65mph speed. Upon research, this is an on going issue with this year make & model & needs to be recalled immediately by GM, before there is a tragedy because of it!

Approximately 2 weeks ago after hitting a very small pot hole I noticed a loud noise when I would turn the steering wheel to the right only 3 days after that it's still to right and never to the left but does make some noise straight. Called our dealer for an appointment but it's going to be a while 5-15 and they checked and no recalls are on our car but I've read numerous safety issues about these vehicles. Last week while it was raining I noticed my car felt like it was sliding or skating once again called dealer was told still can't help any sooner. Now today while windy and raining it was awful literally a fight to keep it in the road it was swaying and most definitely did not feel safe. Myself and my husband have 3 sons and he works for the state of ky forestry dept. Fighting wildfires and works a lot and is sometimes out of state for 21-40 days straight so he's not here much to check things out. Our boys are all into sports and other after school programs year round with lots of traveling involved. My concern is from all the suspension issues I've read that there was a recall on my car but says 0 which doesn't seem right. I wanna be sure that my family will be safe when in this vehicle and as if right now it sure doesn't feel like it. Please help me find more info because hitting a pot hole (very small bump zero damage) shouldn't cause all these problems requiring my family to have to spend a ton of money to fix. This isn't good business and I would hope Chevrolet would care if the safety of a whole family would be in jeporady over something that shouldn't be wrong with my vehicle that by the way only has 79000 miles on it. Hope someone gets in contact with me thanks have a great day.

The vehicle has been experiencing steering issues for a couple years - loud mechanical noises and popping. I have topped of steering fluid reservoir several times and that quieted the noise, but there was no evidence of a leak on my garage floor until October 2015 (after service explained below). The popping became a nuisance again and I took into the local Chevrolet dealer to inspect. They found several issues in the front end that need replaced: Rack and pinion (leaking), power steering pump, end links, bushings, transmission mount, struts (leaking). Steering component failure is a possibility in these issues and can cause loss of power steering in the vehicle. Loss of power steering would likely end up in an accident due to inability to turn vehicle as intended. GM should issue a special coverage for rack and pinion replacement and strut leaks as these are very well know safety/design flaws. GM has already issued special coverage for the power steering pump.

Traverse 6-cyl

  • 30,000 miles
I was purchasing the vehicle and told that I could not pick it up due to a faulty rack and pinion that they needed to replace. Now 30,000 miles later the rack and pinion has failed again and has to be replaced making this the 3rd rack in pinion in this car which is a safety issue. They are also stating front struts are now leaking. They found this faulty rack and pinion when I took the car in for low coolant levels and the water pump needing replaced under the extended warranty watch.

While sitting at a stop sign my Traverse was hit on the driver's side by the tire and fender. The side air bag or front airbags didn't deploy. The vehicle that hit my Traverse had airbags that deployed. My wife was 4 months pregnant and didn't have proper protection of the multiple airbags this vehicle has. She injured her knee from banging into the dash board and caused great concern about the health of our unborn child. The sad part is now we receive a letter that our car is part of the recent side impact air bag recall on the Chevrolet Traverse. The reason why it didn't deploy in the accident is because of wire issues on the airbag system. Unsafe at any speed.
