I could smell burning oil coming from my car. I took it to the dealer on 2/13/2018 to complain of the problem and to get the oil changed at the regularly scheduled interval. The dealer said that it did not see any external leaks and could not duplicate the smell, but that the engine was "extremely low on oil." The low oil light did not come on this time, although it had come on before, and I filed a complaint about that.

The dealer said that all they could do was to change the oil and have me bring the vehicle back in 1,000 miles to do an oil consumption test to see if it is burning an excessive amount of oil and see if Chevy would cover that under the powertrain warranty at that point. The vehicle now has 59,430 miles on it, so the warranty is up in just over 500 miles. The dealer said that it will still be covered under the powertrain warranty because I brought it in with the complaint prior to the warranty being up. I expect the dealer and Chevy to live up to this.
