Chevrolet Venture automatic sliding door is malfunctioning. The door opens as the consumer is trying to close it, and goes back and forth until it eventually remains closed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but they have been unable to permanently rectify the problem. The consumer has elected to turn off the automatic door and operate it manually.

The right side sliding door will not open properly and was making a clicking noise when it was closed, sounding like it was going to prop open. Consumer will take vehicle to dealer for the second time because this could not provide sufficient protection inside the vehicle to the passengers.

Consumer fractured wrist when arm got caught up on the power rear door. (nar) the consumer could not get her hand out of the door handle because her elbow was against the seat back. The consumer suffered two and a half months of pain and inconvenience while the wrist healed. Owner states that front doors do not unlock from the inside of vehicle. Dealership has been notified. The door could not be unlocked by using the remote or door switch. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but they were unable to duplicate the problem. The dealer cleaned the electrical contacts and advised the consumer to return if the problem persist.

The automatic door failed to release from the interior and a child's finger became caught in the door. The consumer had to use a crowbar to release the child's finger. The consumer requested the door be replaced with a manual door, however GM refused, because they stated the door performed as designed.
