I have never heard of anyone having this problem before, but maybe there has been an issue that includes the recent recall for the 2013 Chrysler 200 on it's seatbelts. The pretensioner in my car (I think that's what it's called) snapped off suddenly in my hand, no particular pressure or reason for it to break. Appears to have some metal fatigue or something on the inside of the cover. REF NHTSA campaign number: 16V668000 (seat belts, air bags)
