When I bought this car a year ago, I never really had heat, it was always just warm air. Now, this year, that it is getting a lot colder outside, I have NO heat. A few months ago I started hearing a knocking/clicking noise coming from behind my glove box. After I Googled I seen the heater core was the issue. I also smelt something like maple syrup when I would turn the heat on. Now, the maple syrup smell is strong when the heat kicks on for a whole 2 seconds. Last night, we tried turning the auxiliary to heat, manually. And of course, I still have no heat.

After researching it has something to do with the model and what they put in the radiator. As someone who comes from a mechanic family, I would only have to pay for the part which is cheap, but it is a 12-hour job and my ENTIRE dash, including my steering column, has to be ripped out to replace it. So, if you are having this problem with this make and model, just sell the damn thing. And if your thinking about getting this make and model, DON"T. I have had three Chryslers and I will never have another one.

Second catastrophic failure of heating system. No heat from passenger side. Low heat from driver's side. Chattering under the dash. Failed one year after the first failure with same problem. I guess Chrysler didnt fix it too well.

Haven't fixed yet because on my limited senior income, I haven't had the money for the co-pay to fix it. A buddy with a 2012 200 Limited V6 just had to have his fixed for the second time as well. A known problem but Chrysler refuses to take responsibility for the factory flaw. A beautiful black car, but worthless under the skin. Can't drive in the winter without heat in Minnesota.

I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2014. ONE NIGHT DRIVING HOME FROM WORK I HEARD THE CLICKING IN THE DASH AND IT SCARED ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING. NOW I HAVE NO HEAT AND WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY 129.00 TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AND THEN THEY WOULD HAVE TO SEE IF THE WARRANTY WOULD COVER IT. MY WARRANTY IS VERY GOOD AND I DIDNT EXPECT TO BE TREATED AS BAD AS I WAS. THEY ACT LIKE THEY HAVE NO TIME FOR ME. HOW MUCH TO FIX ON MY OWN AND WHAT IS THE PART?
