200 Limited 3.6L

I replaced this part a year prior to this date. Now one year later, I'm finding myself replacing it for a third time. Worst design EVER!!

This will now be the third time in the last 3 years replacing this part. Extremely poor design.

200 S 3.6L V6 - Flex

  • Automatic transmission

The oil cooler/filter assembly is mostly plastic piece that sits underneath the lower intake manifold, on top of the engine block and bolts to it in the "valley." The O rings or seals on the underneath that connect to the various oil and coolant vanes of the engine block will fail and result in an oil and or coolant leak on top of the engine in the valley - usually resulting in a couple of inches of oil and coolant sitting on top of the engine block in the "valley". For a vehicle under 60K miles, this is ridiculous. Who would have thought that a plastic part sitting on top of a hot aluminum engine block would have so many issues? It's a cheap part that will last maybe 50k miles at best. A serious design flaw if you ask me.
