200 S V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles

When I first bought my vehicle in 2015, within a few months after purchase I started noticing that the transmission slips. It also accelerates automatically without me applying pressure to the gas peddle and jerks at times like its skipping. I have had my vehicle looked at several times but the dealership says theres nothing wrong and will not fix anything if the check engine light is not on, which it never was. I complained about my car on several occasions and even called the main Chrysler company and filed complaints regarding the same issues.

Since then I have just let it go because I cant seem to receive any help regarding my vehicles issues. It has gotten worse over the years. I have gotten in accidents on 2 separate occasions because the car accelerated on its own, no injuries but that's not the point. When I have gone to the dealership to have it checked out I was told by management that the type of car I own are built to do what I am complaining about. I don't understand how or why that would be, its unsafe and now I have been forced to drive this dangerous vehicle even with my kids in the car because I cannot get rid of it.

200 S 4.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 43,891 miles

I purchased a Chrysler 200 on February 10, 2017 with 42,500 miles on it. On or around February 15, I noticed that the car surged forward when taking my foot off the gas and when braking, I would have to push down really hard on the brake to get it to stop. On March 11, when driving down the street doing the 25 mile speed limit, I pressed on the brake to stop it, it stopped, I was the 5th car in line at the light, when the light changed, and the cars started moving, my car lunges forward and I hit the car in front of me. I have an appointment in the morning to get the issue looked at, but I know they are going to tell me that nothing is wrong, and will not take responsibility for my accident. Just luckily there was no damage to the rear of the suv that I hit, just my car (lucky me).

200 S 2.4L Mult Air

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,000 miles

At first the transmission would not up shift but it only occurred once a month. Then there was the recall on the transmission module, which I brought that in and they repaired. After that repair, the up shift issue only occurred once and has not happened again. Now the major problem is the lunging forward when the car comes to a complete stop either at a light or in rush hour traffic. I have brought this into the dealer service shop 2 times, once they could not duplicate and the other time they acknowledged that it did occur, but slightly. So they flashed the transmission and said that should fix the problem. It only fixed for about 3-4 days and it still lunges forward when I come to a stop. It only happens 50-65% of the time each day I drive, and it almost feels like I'm running something over. This is a pain in the ass since the car is 4 months old with approx 9000 miles.
