I HAD ONLY 1 SIGN TO MAKE ME KNOW SOMETHING WAS WRONG, MY INSIDE LIGHTS OVER THE DASHBOARD WOULD NOT GO OFF AND THE LIGHTS OVER EACH BACK DOOR. WHEN I WENT TO TRY TO DISCONNECT MY BATTERY, I COULD NOT DUE TO ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS. MY CAR STARTED SMOKING WHITE SMOKE OUT OF THE DRIVERS SIDE AIR CONDITIONER AND BEFORE 911 COULD GET THERE IT WAS INFLAMED. MY IGNITION WAS DOING A CLICKING SOUND LIKE IT COULD NOT START THE DAY BEFORE. THAT IS WHY I AM THINKING THIS HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE IGNITION UNIT.

electrical fire

About 90 minutes after parking the car following a three-hour road trip over icy roads, a passerby reported that it was full of smoke and flames were shooting out of the undercarriage. A fire started in the wiring in the front passenger door post, which was completely melted, and had spread to the front passenger seat before it was extinguished by the fire department. The car was a total loss.

I'm just glad the fire did not start while I was on the road, leaving me stranded in subfreezing temperatures, or worse.
