The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that the vehicle suddenly stalled without warning, the vehicle was towed to a dealer (J1 automotive repair incorporated, 591 S main St, lombard, il 60148, (630) 932-4427) and the alternator assembly was replaced. The dealer and manufacturer stated that because the alternator assembly was 180 amps, it was excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 14V634000 (electrical system), although the vehicle exhibited the same failure related to the recall concerning the 160 amp alternators. In addition, a new recall was issued: NHTSA campaign number: 17V435000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,172. Updated 08/31/17 the consumer stated the trunk release was malfunctioning as well.
