I own a Chrysler 300M, and I too have the same problem with my rims! The rims are badly corroded and do not hold air. I've had my tire store remove the tire, clean the rim, sand the corrosion and replace the valve stem too many times to recall. It has been suggested that I buy new rims. First, I do not want to buy chrome rims AGAIN and I am having problems finding steel rims for the 300M. I have purchased an air compressor to make sure that the tires are not low. I use the compressor every 3-4 days.

I don't know what to do since I can not afford new rims anyhow; I might just junk the car! This was the first time and also the last time that I will own a Chrysler!!!!!!

I also have had rim issues. The tires do not hold air. I have had various valve stems replaced. I even made sure they used the 'BETTER' valve stems. The tires kept losing air. I went out and bought all new tires, and the installer also called me in to see the corrosion on the rims. They said they could not guarantee that the rims would hold even with bead sealer. I need to stop every other day to inflate my tires and check the pressure. This is a HUGE P. I. A. !! I used to love this car before I started having this problem. Now handling is a problem, and my tires screech. Anyone have a solution?

I have a 2000 300M, purchased new in 2000, with optional chrome 17" wheels. Cleaned religiously, only use the best car care products. Rims always had mothers chrome polish applied, after two years the center caps started falling off. Found way to fix that, pain in the ass, but not a big deal. For almost the past year now, a different tire would be low on air every day, if I didn't keep up on it, it would be almost flat in two days and the tires would never stayed in balance no matter how many times I had them balanced, so I took car to gas station to see if tires had nails or something in them, nothing. Tried changing the valves, still same problem. After months of stopping on the way to work to put air in the tires, I got tired of it and went and bought new tires. When the tire center was putting the new tires on, they called me out into the shop and showed me the inside of the rims, they were so corroded, and flaking, it looked like battery acid around the inside of the rim where the bead of the tire sits. They advised me that they could not say for sure if the new tires would fix the problem. Sure enough, not even 48 hours later 2 of them were almost flat. $700 for tires and alignment for nothing. Went to the dealer, they said the was nothing they could do because of the mileage, and I would have to call Chrysler directly. In the parking lot a employee from the dealership who had overheard my problem stopped me and told me that Chrysler is aware there is a problem, and had changed the sealant they use. Called Chrysler the same day, explained the problem, they called the dealership while I was on hold, the person on the phone explained the paperwork on my claim will get started right away, and someone from the dealership will be contacting me. Have I been contacted yet? Hell no!!!!! Meanwhile brand new tires are getting screwed up by constantly changing air pressure, who only knows what is happening to anything else because of the tires being out of balance. I get a wrist massage all the way to work from the steering wheel vibrating.

If you went to buy a $32k car and they told you the rims would have to be replace in four years, would you buy that car? Oh did I mention the chrome rims from the dealer are almost 6 hundred a piece.

What if I'm going down the highway and one of these tires loses air instantly, and I lose control and get in a accident, are they going to be responsible?
