Diagnostics show code P0344 cam shaft position sensor. It was repaired under recall J18 in Aug 09. Called bob moore dealership (completed recall work) & Chrysler recall line. They both say won't repair under original recall. This is the same exact part/problem. Is there any way to get them to honor this? my cruise control shuts itself off, lights dim, and fails to start on occasion.

The contact owns a 2004 Chrysler 300M. The vehicle would intermittently stall without any prior warnings. As a consequence his risk for a vehicle crash was increased. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the cam shaft along with the crank-shaft position sensors were replaced. Two days after the repair the failure resurfaced. The interior lights also flickered on and then off and the steering column began to vibrate violently. None of the repairs have remedied the failures. The manufacturer was notified, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 22000. The current mileage was 84,000.

While accelerating onto the freeway, at approx. 55mph, in very heavy traffic with many big-rigs in the mix, the "check engine" light came on and the car suddenly lost power and began to shudder/miss out when accelerating. I had to quickly navigate over 3 lanes of fast moving traffic to avoid being rear-ended. I was able to drive slowly to a repair shop, but the engine would not rev above 2200 RPM. The service shop has tried 4 times to repair the car, each time replacing various sensors that were indicated by the engine computer. After each repair, the car would run fine for 2-3 days before having the same failure. It is still not repaired. I feel this is a serious safety problem.

Randomly my car will cut off while I am driving. Sometimes I can wait for a few minutes and it will start up again (not very often). I can wiggle the wire to the control valve (I think that is what it is called, it is in the very front of the engine towards the right side), the car will then start. I have been in some very bad situations and am afraid of what may happen if this causes me to have an accident. I have went to a car repair shop and they said it may be caused by the cam positioning. I travel a lot with my grandchildren and do not feel safe.

Just driving down the road and my car stalled then lurched forward while I was in an intersection almost causing an accident. The repair shop stated a sensor had to be reprogrammed due to problems with the flywheel. I was told this problem will happen again as the flywheel in my vehicle is known to cause this problem. Something about flexing and cracking. It is my belief that this is a manufactures defect.

My cars since new has had very rough idle at times. I bought the car brand new in Dec 03 and they have already had to pull the heads and replace head gaskets for an over heating issue that popped up. There are also several rattles in the car.
