I HAVE A 2009 CHYSLER ASPEN HYBRID. MY CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED AT 2 DEALER SINCE I PURCHASED IT IN 2009 NEW (EXCEPT 1 TIME I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER OIL CHANGING PLACE IN 2013), 1 BEING GRAND JUNCTION AND THE OTHER AT GLENWOOD SPRINGS AND I AM VERY ON TIME WITH MY OIL CHANGES AND ANY CODE ISSUES WHICH I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS.

I STARTED TO HEAR THIS RATTLE MORE AND MORE AFTER THE LAST OIL CHANGE A MONTH OR SO BEFORE, I WAS CONCERNED BECAUSE THE TEMP LIGHT WAS A LITTLE HOTTER THAN NORMAL, ALSO, SO I CALLED THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM WHAT WAS GOING ON AND THEY BOOKED AN APPOINTMENT FOR A CHECK UP, MIND YOU I WAITED 2 WEEKS.

TOOK MY CAR (DIDN’T DRIVE IT, WAS SCARRED TO) THE NIGHT BEFORE JUST SO THEY COULD LISTEN TO IT THE NEXT MORNING I WROTE ON THE LITTLE DROP OFF CARD WHAT PROBLEMS I WAS EXPERIENCING AGAIN, THEY CALLED ME AND TOLD ME THAT THEY FOUND A MICE NEST IN THE BATTERY BOX (YEP A MOUSE NEST) THEY SAID NOTHING ABOUT THE NOISE, NO ONE EVEN BOTHERED TO LISTEN TO IT IN THE MORNING (THIS WAS BY JUSTIN'S FACE EXPRESSIONS) (THAT’S WHEN IT’S THE LOUDEST, I WROTE THIS ON THE CARD) NOTHING WAS SAID AT ALL JUST THAT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN THE NEST. COST ME OVER A HUNDRED DOLLARS AND 2 DAYS WITHOUT MY CAR.

I CALLED THE DEALER BACK A DAY LATER AND THEY SUGGESTED I BRING IT BACK BUT TO GET MY CAR IN IT WAS ANOTHER 2 WEEKS, THEY DID AN OIL CHANGE AND ADDED THIS STUFF TO CLEAN LIFTERS AND QUITE THEM DOWN. I’M THINKING WHY IS MY LIFTERS GOING OUT, IT'S ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND 75, 000 MILES AND TO BOOT I’M A GRANNY DRIVER. SO I PICK UP MY CAR UP AGAIN THIS BILL WAS FOR ANOTHER OIL CHANGE AND THE MIRACLE STUFF. THANK GOODNESS IT WASN’T THE SHOP RATE. I ALSO GOT TOLD THAT IT WON’T STRAND ME, JUST KEEP DRIVING IT UNTIL THE NOISE GETS WORSE.

I CALLED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT BECAUSE THE NOISE WASN'T ANY BETTER AND TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT I HAVE TO WAIT 2+ MORE WEEKS FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THEM REPLACE MY LIFTERS. SO I TAKE MY CAR TO THE DEALER ON WEDNESDAY MORNING BY 9AM THEY SAID IT WOULD BE A COUPLE OF DAYS TO REPLACE THE LIFTERS WHICH I KINDA FIGURED. THE GENTLEMAN THAT WAS HELPING ME TOLD ME HE WOULD CALL ME WITH AN AMOUNT AND THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE. HE CALLS ME AT NOON THE DAY IT'S SUPPOSE TO BE READY, TO TELL ME THE SAME THING AS BEFORE THEY THINK IT'S THE LIFTER AND NOW MIGHT ALSO BE MY CAM SHAFT. GREAT, SO NOW HE TELLS ME $3300.00 TO FIX IT WHEN BY NOW IT WAS ALREADY SUPPOSE TO BE FIXED—TODAY--SO NOW I AM AGAIN TOLD THAT OH, JUST DRIVE IT UNTIL THE NOISE GETS WORSE, BUT WOULDN’T THIS DAMAGE THE CAM SHAFT, THE TOP OF THE VALVE OR EVEN THE ROCKER ARM SO WHY WOULD YOU TELL SOMEONE TO KEEP DRIVING IT, IF IT COULD CAUSE MORE DAMAGES?

SO MR. TERRY, MY COMPLAINT IS THAT AFTER 3 APPOINTMENTS, 6 DAYS IN YOUR SHOP AND ALMOST 2 MONTHS OF WAITING MY CAR IS NO MORE DONE THEN BEFORE AND THE PRICE KEEPS GOING UP. CAN YOU ANSWER A QUESTION? HAS ANYONE REALLY LOOKED AT MY CAR, HAVE THEY TAKEN THE TOP OFF AND LOOKED AT THE LIFTERS, OR ARE WE STILL GUESSING. I FEEL THAT I HAVE BEEN PUT ON A BACK BURNER BECAUSE YOUR ENGINE GUY IS TO BUSY FOR MY CAR.
