Concorde 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,000 miles
The contact stated that according to the mechanic at the local dealership, the hydraulic lift that holds up the trunk was not designed to hold the load. The trunk fell on him, but did not injure him. The dealership stated the hydraulic lifts need to be replaced on both sides. This has been happening since purchase of vehicle. Also, he stated the vehicle was low to the ground, the front end scraped when backing of the driveway or driving over a bump. He took the vehicle to two dealerships, and was willing to pay out of pocket. Both dealerships stated there was nothing that could be done. Updated 11/30/2005 -

Alarmed to see other consumer complaints of similar problems with the steering and failure of rack and pinion and front end suspension. Also, we have replaced the sway bar links. We have repeatedly had problems with A/C erratic operation as other consumers reported. Fully alarmed by numerous fuel throttle and seatback collapse problems reported. R&P steering unit replaced. Steering was real loose.

I have been without my 1999 car (5) times. My complaint regarding the "front left" has been the same each time the care was in for service. Each time the "symptom" was not fixed. This time the rack and pinion is being replaced.
