I purchased this car in '95 with an extended warranty for 7 years and 75,000 miles. The trasnmission has been replaced 5 times and the last two times have occurred since the 1st of August 2000. The last 16 months the car has had a problem of "slipping" the transmission into what is called "limp mode" which immediately shifts the car into low gear with no warning and it will fluctuate back into gear and into low gear until the car is stopped and restarted. I believe this car has a defect which cannot be fixed by the manufacturer and I believe it to be a safety hazard. When this limp mode porblem occurs the effects at low speeds are dramatic and it recently occurred while doing 60 miles an hour on the highway, which was extremely dangerous to myself and others. I am a father of two girls and I don't wish to leave my wife a young widow because I, the little guy, can't get a big dog like Chrysler to fix or replace this car. The car has had two recalls, two blown air conditioning units and various other problems.

The air conditioning on the car leaks and smells. We bought the car used in 1996 and had it 6 months when it needed the complete transmission replaced. The air was recharged but continues to leak. We just put close to $2,000 into this used lemon and still have the air to fix and the alternator is going so we are told before we get stuck again. There is a loud wind coming from it now that was not there when we got the car. We just replaced the water pump and timing belt and the tension pulley. I wish Chrysler would at least fix the air conditioning because that is another $700+ we just don't have now. I am on social security disability and can not afford to fix it. I have a heart problem that the air concitioning would help with in the hot summer months around cincinnati, but it has taken all our tax refund money which we had better uses for this year. Is there anything anyone can do to help us"?"

Vehicle has been in the shop sixteen times for repair service. The power steering belt came off and the consumer lost control of the vehicle upon applying the brakes to stop. The water pump has been replaced. Also, the air conditioner unit has been worked on four times, and the dealer can't find the problem. Vehicle is still in the shop for the 17th time.
