When this oil leak happens, generally you have to replace the plugs and wires as they get soaked in oil. I have checked on other problem sites and the closest answer is the oil pressure relief valve spring is broken. When looking at the engine schematic at the dealer, the parts man said you have to remove the front of the engine. I've replaced the PCV valve to make sure no pressure in the crankcase is responsible. I have enjoyed the car when no problems are happening but I'm getting tired and don't want to "dump" any more money into it. 05/25/2001 replaced p/s hose and a/c hose. 11/15/2010 replaced heater core. 02/01/2011 replaced radiator. 04/19/2012 replaced Getrag transmission, clutch, cambelt, water pump, right axle assembly. 10/07/2014 replaced the car computer. Replaced engine mounts numerous times. I feel I have paid for this car at least 3 times.

My car started with an oil leak, when I took it in to be fixed, they had to replace the head. When they put it back together the gasket wouldn't seal because it had warped the manifold, now I'm looking at having to replace that. I'm starting to know now why they're no longer going to make the PT Cruisers, because they're a piece of junk. My ma

WHEN I CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS THERE WAS OIL ON TOP OF THE SPARK PLUG. THE DEALER SAID THE HEAD LEAKED OIL FROM THE HEAD GASKET AND THEY REPLACED THE WHOLE HEAD. IT HAD ALSO SOMEHOW LEAKED A BUNCH OF OIL INTO THE AIR FILTER RESERVOIR. THANK GOODNESS IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.
