PT Cruiser Touring 4

  • Automatic transmission

So far, nearly every part of the A/C has been replaced. It will not hold the pressure more than one day. Dye does not show a leak anywhere. I've been struggling with this problem for more than 3 years. Yesterday, after another freon fill that only lasted a day, I just wanted to push the car off a cliff!!!! has still not been fixed. replaced, fan module, compressor $2400

Recently I took my 2006 PT cruiser in for a stalling problem.A local shop called me with an estimate of just short of 2000.00. They said I need an engine flush, two motor mounts, cooling fans(radiator)rear brakes, wiper blades, plugs ,wires,an oil pressure switch intake manifold gaskets(manifold has to be taken off for plug access)a brake line flush and would soon need a timing belt(an additional 700.00)I am at a loss to understand just which of these items is responsible for the stalling.I did most of these things myself as there was some truth to it and found the air conditioning not getting cold after I did the motor mounts. They said the air might need service after the repairs so this might have been an issue which was pre-existing.In any event,I paid them for the diagnosis and put the two new tires on that they recommended and STILL had my stalling issue.I was in the Cooling System repair business for over 40 years and I can certainly see why mechanics have the reputation that they do.I never did these kinds of things but they are still in business and expanding while we have gone broke.Perhaps you cannot actually be ethical in this line of work......

PT Cruiser LX

My air conditioning is blowing hot air, I live in Florida and it has been hell to drive. My daughter has a PT Cruiser also same year and same problem. She lives in Massachusetts and has lower mileage than I have. My car was bought new from the dealer. When is Chrysler going to do a recall to fix this common problem for PT Cruiser's?

I cannot afford to get this fixed at this time. I am 73 years young and am a widow so I have no one to fix it for me. Before this happened it would hesitate when I had to stop for lights and stop signs, etc. My daughter had this too. I love this car and cant afford to buy a new one. I just want the AC to work.

My air has gone out. Supposedly it is a leak in the hose and the place wanted to charge $1,300 to fix it.
