problem #1

Aug 082016

PT Cruiser

  • Automatic transmission
  • 103,000 miles

After driving the car even a few minutes, if shut off, it refuses to re-start. It takes up to five times of trying to get it started, during which time turning the key either does nothing or makes it sound like it is misfiring, and makes a sound like the starter bendix engages while the engine is already running. A diagnosis of the problem yieled that this is a fault of the TIPM! Why do I have to change my computer to get my car to start properly? This is a $1000 repair, and I cannot explain my frustration with having an unreliable car because of some kind of broken internal computer.
