The problem is where the control is located. This is a dangerous issue and needs to be resolved before someone is hurt or killed if has not happened already. The problem is you no control of the seat,it rises up and puts you forward into the steering wheel. The only thing you can do is to turn the car off or try to steer with your chest .I have called chrsyler and talked with there rep. The only thing they can do is repair it. It is covered under 12 mouth warranty since it keeps getting repaired. this the number 5. I was told by the rep until they receive enough complaints no recall will be issued. So if you have the same problem you need to call 800 992 1997.

This has power seat has had to be replaced twice this year alone. We came out of church on Sunday and the control had put the seat almost all the way in the up position my wife had to drive the car home because I could not get in the drivers seat. The dealer ordered a new part and installed it. Then after the dealer said it was fixed I was on my way out of work in to traffic the next day and the seat started raising on its own again. It was then fixed again, this lasted for awhile till my wife drove it a few weeks ago and pulled in to go shopping when the plastic panel fell off again and the seat started moving forward on its own with her in the seat. It had her so confined that in an attempt to get out before it went up any further she injured her hip that she had just had replacement surgery on a month and a half before. and even after she got out the seat continued to go forward on its own. she finally figured how to get the seat back enough she could bring it to me. Now this week we are replacing the power seat controller and the plastic cover. It appears to be a defect in the Pt cruisers making.Even the dealer said that. This is a serious issue if we are driving down the road and it does this we could wreck and kill someone or ourselves.
