Pacifica Limited 3.5L

I bought my car and on the way home it jolted and the rpm's would only go up to 3000. The car slowed down to 10mph. I put it in park and tried revving the engine but I would get up to 3000rpm then make a growling noise, that sounded really bad, and didn't go any higher.
