problem #2

Dec 152015

Pacifica Touring

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150,000 miles

My 2005 Pacifica has been accelerating since I purchase in 2005. When the brake is depressed the engine actually accelerates and if my foot is not on the brake hard then the truck will move forward. I've learned to live with it but now I'm concerned with my car aging if this is going to get worst. Has anyone had any success with getting the problem fix, specifically for free, through the dealer?

problem #1

Pacifica Touring 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 132,000 miles

accelerates in park and at a stop with brakes depressed

Pacifica will start (trying) to accelerate in park and in any gear. Brakes depressed, speedometer and RPM's start going crazy. Have to stop at least 2 car lengths behind any vehicles, not stop in front of buildings and drive ready to throw into neutral.

Was advised that it's a dealer repair only, and has now been at the dealer for 3 weeks. They replaced the throttle assembly & wiring, but problem continued. Now waiting for the PCM/TCM to be delivered to replace that.
