Pacifica Limited 3.6L V6

We setup the Remote Door Unlock through Uconnect (Chrysler's term for the vehicle setup of the onboard computer) so that one push of the Unlock button on the key fob only opens the driver's door. This is in accordance with page 195 of the owner's manual. However, one push of the fob unlock button opens the driver's side slider and the driver's door.

After trying to setup this up a number of times, we took our new 2022 Pacifica to the dealer's service department. They had the car for two days trying to figure out the problem. The mechanic discovered that the driver's side slider is wired to the driver's door. To quote the mechanic, "Inspection of wiring diagrams, shows the circuit P1 that goes from the body control module to the driver door latch, splices off and then goes directly to the driver sliding door latch. Due to the way the circuit is wired in, the driver sliding door will always unlock with driver door when only driver door option is selected." We repeated this issue on another 2022 Pacifica on the dealer's lot, and someone at the dealership told me the wiring has been like this for years.

This, of course, is contrary to the owner's manual and the Uconnect setup program. Let's be honest, it's contrary to just about every vehicle on the road today. However, the service department will not rewire the driver's side slider's latch, because it will invalidate the warranty. I submitted a complaint through Chrysler Customer Care, and they initially said it should be fixed under warranty. However, that changed after Customer Care contacted the dealer's service department.

This is a design problem, not a failed component or workmanship issue, and Chrysler is the only one that can fix this. However, Customer Care is pointing the finger at the dealer fix this issue and the dealer is pointing the finger at Chrysler. Meanwhile, this issue is not being addressed. If you have a Pacifica, make a complaint to Chrysler Customer Care. Getting more people to complain is the only way Chrysler will address the issue.
