The contact owns a 2000 Chrysler Sebring. While driving between 45-50 mph, the contact heard a loud rattling noise coming from the front end of the vehicle. Unexpectedly, the vehicle began to steer in one direction without assistance. The contact was required to exert greater force to turn the steering wheel. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and resumed normal operation. The vehicle was inspected and repaired by a certified mechanic, who stated that the failure was related to the tie rod ends. The tie rod ends were replaced on two separate occasions and recently failed. In addition, the contact heard a loud noise coming from the transmission when accelerating. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure mileage was 28,000 and current mileage was 65,700.

The contact owns a 2000 Chrysler Sebring. The engine completely shut off without warning while driving at any speed. The contact stated that the vehicle restarted after approximately four seconds, but ran normally as long as the transmission was engaged. The dealer never inspected the vehicle. If the contact unpluged the computer, and then pluged it back in the vehicle will restart normally. The current and failure mileage were 110,000.

Vvehicle was at dealer for servvice at 99,500 miles, asked to check over for any problems which may be corrected as warranty was about to expire. None. At 114,000 miles transmission locked up at 60mph highway, able to slide 3/4 off roadway. Repair is trans needs rebuilt ($1700) due to pin walked out of place.

The key was removed from the ignition while the vehicle was engaged in the drive position. As a result, the vehicle rolled back. The consumer had to jump back into the vehicle to prevent any type of collision. The defect was noticed shortly after purchase. The dealer fixed the problem fee of charge.

Tansmission failure. Chrysler service manager said clutch tork converto came apart. 55000 miles requires new transmission. Warrant 3yr/30000 miles. New warrant 7yr/70000 miles for cars purchased after July 2002. Remanufactured transmission $2766.

Vehicle leaking transmission fluid, dealer stated that they tried a new gasket on transmission switch assembly. Leak persisted, dealer stated switch (or valve) was bad but there was a nationwide backorder of at least 10,000 units. I was allowed to take vehicle but made aware to check transmission fluid often. There is no tsb out on this problem even though it is a fairly common problem. Dealer will honor the warranty whent he valve comes in.

Consumer was backing out, put vehicle in drive, and vehicle would only go back. Consumer tried 4 times, same result. On last try, she backed into a parked vehicle. Had vehicle towed to dealer, who could not find a problem. Also, contacted Chrysler who sent an individual to examine vehicle. Chrysler will mail her whatever they found out.
