problem #3

Sebring 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles
The contact owns a 2001 Chrysler Sebring. The vehicle is experiencing electrical failure. The lights in the passenger compartment and instrument panel flash on and off and the radio shuts on and off as well. The contact took the vehicle to a lot and they were unable to find any failure. Days later, when he removed the key from the ignition, the entire ignition source came out with the key. He has not taken the vehicle to the dealer because he feels it is unsafe to drive. The failure mileage was 80,000 and current mileage was 81,000.

None of the gauges work on the dash. Such as the odometer the gas gauge, the radio. I really don't know what led up to the failure. For this is a used car.

: the contact stated upon starting the vehicle, the gauges oscillated back and forth rapidly before returning to normal. The dealership determined the instrument panel needed to be replaced. The repair was not made and the problem corrected itself. The consumer stated whenever he went to accelerate, the needle would not move. Updated 11/30/06.
