Sebring LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 33,000 miles

Bought the car new. First noticed rust on the driveway about 3 y later. Took it to Chrysler dealer, said severe rusting of suspension, tie rods. Replaced same for $1200. One year later, experienced loud squealing. Chrysler told me that tie rods, suspension needed to be replaced. When I complained that it had been done less than 5000 miles before, they showed me rusted parts. Major replacement, but discounted the $1200 to $900 "because I was an honored customer". 2008, similar problems. Took it to a local repair shop. Told me that Chrysler never put grease fittings on ball joints. Replaced the entire front end tie rods, etc. $1000. Four front ends in 45000 miles!

My Sebring has only 53000 miles on it and the tie rods are shot already and needed to be replaced.
