I BOUGHT MY CHRYSLER A FEW YEARS BACK AND LATELY ITS BEEN DOING THIS CRAZY ACTING LIKE IT WANTS TO DIE ON ME AND SOMETIMES DOES WHEN I'M IN DRIVE AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. SOMETIMES IT WILL, ALL OF A SUDDEN, IDLE WAY TOO LOW, LIKE IT WANTS TO CUT OFF, THEN IT WILL IDLE UP AND SORT OF SURGE FORWARD. IF MY FOOT'S NOT ON THE BRAKE GOOD IT WILL SURGE FORWARD!

I HAVE CHANGED ALL SORT OF SENSORS INCLUDING; CAM,CRANK, IAT, TPS O2, MAP, ETC. I BELIEVE EVERY SENSOR ON THE DAMN CAR! NOTHINGS WORKING. MY CAR HAS 147,000 MILES BUT I KEEP IT UP TO DATE WITH REGULAR MAINTENANCE. I'VE COMPLAINED AND TAKING IT TO CHRYSLER DEALERS AND THEY SAY NOTHING'S WRONG.. I SAY WELL KEEP IT FEW DAYS AND DRIVE FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES TO AN HOUR AND SEE WHAT IT DOES. HA, HA, THEY SAY THEY DON'T HAVE TIME! YEA BECAUSE THEY KNOW THIS CAR HAS ISSUES AND THEY DON'T WANT TO DO A RECALL ON THESE MODELS BECAUSE IT'S COSTLY BUT ONE DAY THIS CRAP IS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE, THEN WHAT??

I'VE SPENT HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS TO NO AVAIL. SO I'M GOING TO GET RID OF IT. TRADE IT IN FOR A HONDA OR TOYOTA, AMERICAN CARS SUCK! I LOVE AMERICA BUT THEY MAKE SOME CRAPPY CARS! I GOT FRIENDS WITH HONDAS AND TOYOTAS WITH 300000 MILES AND STILL GOING! LOOKS LIKE IT'S TIME FOR A NEW MODEL COMPLETELY! I SEE OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES, LUCKILY MINE HASN'T SEIZED UP YET BUT I'M NOT ABOUT TO SIT AROUND OR MORE LIKE DRIVE AROUND IN IT TIL IT DOES. SHOOT, I HAVE KIDS! THIS IS DANGEROUS!

CHRYSLER YOU NEED TO OWN UP TO TO THIS PROBLEM. STOP IGNORING IT AND DO A RECALL ON THESE CARS AND FIX THEM BEFORE SOMEONE DIES. 1 LOST LIFE IS TO MUCH IN MY BOOK! LIVES ARE PRICELESS. FIX THIS CRAP MAN! I'M DONE WITH CHRYSLER. HOW YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR OWN MAKE AND MODEL CAR! LUDICROUS. THEIR LYING GUYS, THEY KNOW WHAT'S WRONG, THEY JUST DON'T WANT TO FIX IT BECAUSE IT'S TO COSTLY FOR THEM! I KNOW SOMEONE WHO WORKS FOR THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND THEY SAY THEY KNOW WHAT'S WRONG. YOU GREEDY PIGS! I'M DONE WITH CHRYSLER. WHY WOULD I BUY ANOTHER CHRYSLER WHEN THEY CLAIM THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY THE CARS ARE DOING THIS?! YEA RIGHT! YOU JUST LOST A GOOD CUSTOMER! DON'T BUY CHRYSLER!!!!!

Bought 2004 Sebring last spring, had head gasket job on car, ran good back and forward to work about 23 miles one way. Saturday decided to go to tag sales, ran car for about one hour, then shut car off at sale, got back in car, won't start. Will turn over a little, like battery was dead, had car towed home and after sitting overnight I went out, car started right up like nothing happen. If I drive more then 40 miles and shut car off won"t start till cools off. Now going down road car starting to stall with no warning and when try to start it acts like I have a dead battery on 2004 Sebring. Will never buy another Sebring.

So my car stalled backing out of a parking spot. Not the battery. Towed it. First they thought it was loose wires. Fixed that, drove it off. Stalled again. Then 250 bucks later, they tell me it is the computer. Took it elsewhere for a second opinion. Mechanic tells me it is the engine. Makes a ticking sound and could fail at any time. He won't even fix anything else because the Chrysler engines are so bad. So I was going to pay 1200 for a computer and this guys says it is the engine. I can't be stalling everywhere, so now I have to buy a new car. He said Chrysler should have a lawsuit against them for this engine. Any suggestions for a dependable convertible???????????????

Sebring Touring V6 / 2.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,000 miles

WE bought the car in December 2011. It had 53K miles and reports came back clean. Car was well cared for. . . First issue was slow heater response and vacuum line issues directing the heat from floor to vents. This got me checking the heater core, coolant levels, thermostat, and ultimately a slow coolant leak was discovered from a warped coolant check-valve. This was repaired by the local repair shop.

Less than a week later, the car began to stall (either at a light or at speeds on the highway), but would always start right away and continue. Now here's the weird thing, this only happens when the heat is ON. When off, no issues, car operates normally. No DTC codes or even pre-codes are logged, no flashing CEL, nothing! When the car stalls it's complete power off, no dash lights, etc. Electrical returns and car starts once placed in park, the key is cycled off and then on again.

I had a mechanic replace the timing belt on my car. The car is still not running right. He told me it may be the spark plugs, so I replaced the spark plugs and the spark plug wires. It's still not running right. Then, he looked at it again. Now, he thinks it's the battery. Okay, now, when you shift from park to reverse, the car goes dead. When you come to a stop or slow down, it goes dead. What the hell is wrong with this car? I am unemployed right now, so I can't afford to keep putting money into this car. I am really just ready to give up and get another car.

THE CAR WAS WORKING RANDOMLY,IT WOULDN'T START ON MOST OFF TRIES, ONCE STARTED IT WOULD SHUT OFF RANDOMLY WHILE WAITING ON A TRAFFIC LIGHT , WHEN MAKING A TURN ( IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION). IT FELT LIKE THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH A GAS FILTER THAT THE GAS IS NOT COMING AND THE FILTER IS CLOGGED, SPENT A LOT OF MONEY FOR CARBURETOR CLEANERS. CHANGED SPARK PLUGS TWICE, WHAT HELPED FOR A FEW DAYS, BUT NOT REALLY. I HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR A YEAR AND IT GOT WORST. I HAD CHARGING CABLES IN MY CAR AND ASKED PEOPLE TO GIVE ME BUZZ ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AFTER MY BATTERY WAS DRAINED UP IN MY FAILED ATTEMPTS TO START THE CAR. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE.

UNTIL TODAY!

I INSTALLED NEW SPARK PLUGS CABLES-CONNECTORS BY MYSELF (PIECE OF CAKE) AND IT'S WORKING LIKE NEW, I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE IT!! IT STARTS AND IT NEVER SHUTS OFF, THERE IS NO FILLING THAT THE GAS IS NOT COMING AND I HAVE TO PUMP THE GAS PEDAL IN ORDER THE CAR TO GAIN SPEED AFTER STOPPING. MECHANIC COST ME PREVIOUSLY $350+$80 AND THEY NEVER FIXED THE PROBLEM. I AM SO HAPPY (FOR NOW ) THANKS GOD . THE RED ENGINE LIGHT DESPAIRED FROM MY DASHBOARD. YUPI YEA

After taking the Sebring from shop to shop, ONLY ONE technician could solve the chronic problem of the stalling engine. After testing and inspecting several sensors, he (1) installed a new cam sensor and tightened the cam sensor pins to create better contacts and (2) after noting voltage spikes in the O2 sensors, replaced the up and down stream O2 sensors. Since then, there has been no recurrence of the chronic stalling.

i have basically had the same problems as the other sebrings, but this is the first time it has died and wouldn't start, i checked a couple of things myself to see what might be wrong. it was as if the battery was completely dead but it had enough fire power to turn engine over but it would only make the clicking sound. this is my wife's car so i don't drive it that much. i thought maybe i would let engine cool down and clean battery cables and then it would reset any switches or relays that may have been affected. i checked all fuses and they were good. my thoughts at first it must be the starter or solenoid but a couple of my friends mentioned fuel pump failure and it is very much possible, i didnt think about that at the time because i was focused on the starter. i finally had to have it towed so as of this moment i don't know what is wrong with it. i will say this though, it is my wifes car and i i do drive it occasionally, but i am strictly a Chevy man, i never did think to highly of Chrysler autos and now i know why. I'm old school so i really don't like the autos they make today. dwight I oklahoma
