While traveling North bound on M-24, (telegraph rd.), my left rear quarter panel window exploded. The temp. At the time was aprox. 65 deg.S road condition was smooth. The window was open at the time of the explosion. After checking the internet concerning this problem, it did not take long to find hundreds of people who experienced the exact same thing. All of these incidents involved all years from 2001 to 2012. Why hasn't anything been done about this problem?

While driving at 60 mph the passenger side rear vent window separated from the vehicle, breaking off from the front bolts and the motor arm. The window was not vented at the time of the separation. The full window landed on another vehicle's windshield, shattered, and impacted a third vehicle. The local dealer would not intervene as the van had 44,000 miles on it, over the 36,000 mile warranty. The police were called but a report was not filed as there were no injuries. Costs for repair included $640 to my vehicle, $1800 to the second vehicle, and unknown to the third.

While driving our back window just exploded. It's a 2002 Chrysler Town and country ex touring edition. We immediately stopped the vehicle and there was no evidence of anything hitting the window and the window was bowed out. We did file a police report with the columbus police department.we called ricart Chrysler, where we purchased the vehicle, and was told the warranty only covers 12 months and was told it was probably heat build up (it was 57 degrees that day) or a stress fracture. Which I would assume to be a defect as we did nothing to cause the window to explode.
